Then again, who wouldn’t? Men, that’s who. And women with bad taste. She’s smart, SO smart, and ambitious and successful, she can play any part and make you believe it completely, not to mention she’s drop dead gorgeous. I have a serious girl-crush on this woman.

Actually, this wasn’t my original intention, but can we just talk about her career for a moment?

Where the Heart Is – Saw it when I was in 6th grade and loved it. It’s ridiculously long and sad and, having seen it again recently (and by “recently”, I mean about 10 months ago) a little bit corny, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s not Natalie’s fault that it was corny (yes, Natalie. We’re on first name terms), because she nailed her part even though she was, what, 19 when it was made. 19! That’s how old I am, and you know how many movies I’ve been in? 0. The closest I’ve come to being in a movie was when I met Bo Goldman a few weeks ago and served him tea and a bagel (the top half of a garlic bagel, to be precise. I’m not sure what kind of tea, because he made it himself). Not that being in a movie is a measure of success, but lets think of it as a metaphor.

Anywhere But Here – I saw this, but I don’t remember much of it except that Nat was excellent in it.

Star Wars Movies 1-3 – A *fabulous* example of her versatility. She’s a Star Wars star! One of the most successful movie series’ ever, if not *the* most successful, and she was a major character in it. And her actressing was spot on, plus she was gorgeous with all that hair. She was so cute when she was dressed up as Padme. Oh I love her.

Garden State – Natalie Portman and Zach Braff (who I am pretty much over because he’s so… Zach Braff, but I did quite love him for awhile) together in a movie, ohmigawd, what a combination. He’s so artsy, she’s so arsty, it’s perfect. She was way too cute as the endearingly naive and lovably quirky Sam (what else could her name be?) with a bit of a potty mouth. Quote: “This is your one opportunity to do something that no one has ever done before and that no one will copy throughout human existence. And if nothing else, you will be remembered as the one guy who ever did this. This one thing.” Yeah.

Closer – The closest thing to a perfect movie. Yes, I know it’s so ‘full length soap opera,’ but it’s really just gorgeous. The all star cast is brilliant and at their best, each line is so quotable, and Natalie Portman flawlessly plays a stripper without showing off her boobs. How many revered actresses can say that?

V for Vendetta – Such an underrated film. Everyone who sees it loves it, but so many people didn’t see it because the title is, it must be said, a bit ghey. Her character was really great, a big turnaround from the somewhat film-school Sam deal, and her execution was flawless. Plus she shaved her head and still looked like a woman. A hot woman. If I shaved my head, I would look like a vole. A startled vole. I must watch this movie again.

Paris, Je t’aime – Ok, so I haven’t actually seen this but I really want to. I love Natalie, I love (the idea of) Paris, I love arty-farty movies… I really don’t know why I haven’t watched it yet.

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium – Another one I haven’t seen (I don’t get out much these days…), but another one in which she is mad hot. In an androgynous pixie sort of way. I’d really like to see this one too. Must put it on my to do list.

The Other Boleyn Girl – Surprise, I haven’t seen this one either (I’m usually a few years behind the summer blockbusters), but I’m just about to read it. I’m feeling a bit superior because over a year ago I was at a bookstore, saw this book, and *very* nearly bought it. In fact, I wrote it down in a list of books I intend to read (as you can see, I’m doing about as well with books as I am with movies). And now it’s a major motion picture and a bestseller. And Nat is in it, looking gorgeous if the book cover is any indication, though I hear tell she’s a real bitch in the movie. Which I’m sure is a part she plays convincingly because, really, there’s no part she can’t play convincingly.

Also, her IMDB hints at a pre-production “Snow and the Seven,” which, if she’s ‘Snow’…. it will be fabulastic.

*Ahem*
